Terms of Use

See our Disclaimer, including where our information comes from.

Growing Hernando is a free informational website operated by StorySmith Creative LLC, a Florida limited liability company. These terms are the rules for using it. Effective date: November 3, 2026. By using the site, you agree to these terms.

What the site is

The site is a free informational service about land use in Hernando County, Florida. It is not legal advice, not real-estate advice, not survey advice, and not official advice. It is not an official record of Hernando County, any city, or any court. Maps, parcel cards, hearings, news, colors, and alerts can be wrong, late, or incomplete. Check the linked source, and check the government office that keeps the record, before you rely on anything here.

Rumors

Rumors are unverified hearsay. They have not been confirmed. Do not treat a rumor as fact, and do not rely on it.

No warranties

The site is provided as-is and as available. To the fullest extent Florida law allows, StorySmith Creative LLC disclaims every warranty, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, timeliness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not promise that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent Florida law allows, StorySmith Creative LLC and its members, employees, and contractors are not liable for any loss, damage, or decision that results from using the site or relying on it, including a decision about property, zoning, a hearing, a purchase, or a sale. This includes direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, and special damages, and loss of data or profits, whether or not we were told they were possible. Because the service is free, any liability that Florida law does not allow us to disclaim is limited to the amount you paid us to use the site, which is zero. Some limits may not apply to liability that Florida law does not let a contract waive. If a court strikes one limit, the rest of these terms still apply.

Your conduct

Do not use the site to break the law, to harass or harm someone, or to try to take over another person's account or follows. Do not send a false request to remove or change information. Do not interfere with the site or overload it. We may refuse, limit, or end access when we believe these rules were broken.

Links to other sites

The site links to government pages, the property appraiser, news outlets, and other third-party sites. We do not control those sites and we are not responsible for their content, availability, or privacy practices. Opening a link leaves Growing Hernando.

Advertising and sponsors

Advertising and sponsor messages may appear later. A paid placement is not an endorsement by StorySmith Creative LLC, by Hernando County, or by a person or business named in the news or on a parcel card. The privacy policy will be updated before advertising is turned on.

Corrections and removal

Email growinghernando@gmail.com to report an error, or to ask us to remove personal information or a rumor. We review those requests promptly. We will correct or remove information we agree is wrong. We will remove personal information or a rumor when the request is reasonable. A fact that a linked public record still states may stay, with the link, so people can check the source.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The new effective date will appear on this page before the update applies. If you keep using the site after that date, you agree to the updated terms.

Florida law and venue

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. To the extent Florida law allows, you agree that the state courts in Hernando County, Florida are the exclusive venue for a dispute about these terms or this site.
